Hey, lateness is no big deal. I'm pretty late minded myself, or at least my most natural state is 'slow time' compared to others. Sometimes I take months to reply to somebody, It's a horrible habit, but it also means I don't mind if someone replies to me late. :) In fact, it's possible I haven't responded to another of our threads and I lost track of it. Like you, I sometimes forget. In my case it's because I tend to 'pre-write' responses in my head so much that sometimes I reach a point where I remember my response clearly enough that I think I actually sent it, instead of just composed it. (and sometimes it even goes furthur... for example, when I came to respond to this one I was almost certain it came in a month or so ago instead of days, because your comment about Bucky seemed so familiar)
Anyway, yeah, I could see a touching story along those lines with somebody like Bucky. Presumably he'd be thinking she's just a 'kid' who doesn't know what it was all for, because it was too far in the past, when it's almost the opposite... it's still all "the future" for her.
I'm guessing the 'minister' who can "fix" Klara in your idea's not just a minister, and has some ability? Though a 'magic straightening' power might be a little too pat, maybe just an ability to get people in a brainwashing type situation (I'm reminded of those horrible-sounding 'youth camps' where parents send their kids to be pretty well brainwashed into 'behaving'... not just for sexuality, although that's a part of it, but for anything against the norm. And, also, an episode of Teen Titans cartoon with Mad Mod). Yeah, I could see something along those lines working as a plot for her, confiding in somebody that leads them to take action 'on her behalf'. and so she's conflicted because she wouldn't want to do any of the actions, but she sort of hopes they're successful.
(Also, if you have interest, Year 3 of my own outlines have gone up, in which I give Klara's reluctance at least a little bit of a voice)
