Van Helsing

newnumber6So, since it was my brother's birthday, we decided to rent a film through the cablebox's Video on Demand. We went with Van Helsing. I was a little worried going into it because I'd heard bad things about it, but it turned out being better than I expected.
It's not great, mind you, and there were incredibly cheesy parts and bad acting, but there were also some really nice moments, and the core of the plotline was pretty good. In fact, I'd think the movie's biggest sin is that it wasn't a lot better, because it easily _could_ have been, by getting rid of the cheesiness and the idiocy of some of the characters and situations. So where it could have been a really good movie, we're left with just a decent popcorn movie with a couple nice moments.
