Dream Foo: Rise of the Machines!

newnumber6Sci-Fi themed dream, limited Terminator connection (but there was a bit).
Earth: The Near Future. Artificial Intelligences have taken over the world. They first gave an ultimatum, for every human to be off the planet. They didn't care where we went, just so long as we were gone.
So, whoever could, left, and started inhabiting this strange big ringworld-esque structure elsewhere in the solarsystem (maybe at around the distance of the asteroid belt)?. But the humans were planning to strike back, and they assembled an elite team to go back and fight for the remaining humans, who, they assumed, were slowly being exterminated. I was part of that team.
Except, as we came back to Earth, we realized that things were not quite as they seemed. The machine intelligences technically had a 'shoot on sight' order for any human spotted. Except they rarely came out in public or anything, so there were still thriving communities just hanging out and doing their thing... except, whenever a robot probe showed up, everyone scattered (like cockroaches when the lights turn on) and hid until it was gone.
From the AI point of view (I knew this in the dream somehow in the way I just knew everything else), it was simply a matter of cost-benefit. So long as the humans didn't do anything to bother them, they didn't really care to hunt them down and try and exterminate them. It just wasn't worth the effort. So they sent out cheap little probes to keep them scattering. Eventually, if humanity became too much of a problem, they'd start building humanlike terminators, but for now, everything the AIs made were easily distinguishable, so it was easy to play the hide and not-seek game, where what was left of humanity on Earth pretended to be scared, and the AIs pretended to hunt them, but mostly it had become a sort of mutual coexistence.
Except our presence, an elite team tasked to eliminate the AI's central nexus in LA, might have endangered that. We were sitting around trying to figure out what to do. I remember at one point I was at my grandmother's house, and a little robotic probe. And we all tried to hide, but being indoors it wasn't so easy to get somewhere hidden without being seen. I thought I was hidden, but them someone else grabbed the little probe (it was a tiny thing about the size of a walkman, but floating), and smashed it. I figured we had better leave before they sent backup, but the locals, who knew better, said something to the effect of, 'Nah, these things are so cheap they get destroyed all the time by accident, they don't usually follow up and if they do, we'll have plenty of time to get away.'
I remember there was some discussion of nuking LA to destroy the AI central core and free humanity once and for all, and the worries that if it failed it would trigger the AIs into 'Destroy All Humans' mode, but if it succeeded, hey, no more AIs. I don't think I took a particular side in the argument, mostly just listening.
Also, some dream that I believe involved some of the Young Avengers, but I
can't recall anything about it other than that Cassie was in it.
