Good. Sentence is in, no parole for 20+ years. Now they just need to hold the children's aid responsible for their part.

Mellower news. I have shoes. I went back to the store and found one in my size that was in a style I liked. So now I have a new superpower... the ability to walk through puddles without getting my feet totally soaked! I feel like a god! Well... a god of dry feet. The shoe's still a bit uncomfortable, but I think it just needs to be broken in more.

Oh, and I finally went out and got another ethernet cable, enabling both of my computers to be online at once. I also set it up so I could use my MUSH window from either computer freely. (Which is also a really handy way if I want to quickly pass a URL from one computer to the other, just paste it to the MU* window and copy it from the other computer). Anyway, because of the dual computer action (woohoo, me and 2 computers, does that count as a threesome?) I'm going to attempt to be on this new fangled IMish technology more.

Social Interaction Report: Not much to report. Before work talked a bit to pixie faced girl, but really more just she talked and I just sort of gave vague feedback and wasn't really able to initiate anything. On the other hand, after work (which was way late AGAIN) I managed to ask the truck driver if he could give me a lift to very near his next stop which, as luck would have it, I realized was pretty much on my way home. Took about 30 minutes off my walk home all in all. Plus of course in-truck small-talk. So yay on that.

Watched some more Veronica Mars season 2 lately. Done up to episode 10. Some minor, not-really-spoilery thoughts.

Book Foo:
Finished: Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank (reread)
Started: The Warrior's Apprentice, by Lois McMaster Bujold (Miles Vorkosigan series)

Reread Alas, Babylon several times already so not much new to say on that, but I think I'm just in the mood for the end of the world lately. Still rereading Battle Royale but almost finished - rereading there's a bit more annoying as the linguistical weirdness in translation became more apparent while I'm not as engrossed in 'what happens next'.

Reading The Warrior's Apprentice's a bit odd since I already read books that took place after it in the series, and this one sets up elements that are used extensively in the other books. Still, it's a fun series... always nice to read characters who think, talk, or bluff their way out of things as often (or more often) than anything like violence.

What else? Still haven't gotten around to seeing X3. And even though the commercials certainly look pretty, no interest in seeing Superman Returns. I'll catch it on TV in a few years maybe, but I just can't seem to bring myself to care about Superman. Unless Batman's beating the crap out of them, and even then it's not so much caring about as 'ha-ha'.

Oh, and just before I was ready to post, I found a link for a 4 minute teaser trailer for the upcoming NBC show Heroes. You can get a first look at it here. Looks really good to me. Can't wait till fall.
