I sometimes work with deaf people, and my reaction was to roll my eyes and mutter aloud "Why on earth would you walk on train tracks if you're deaf??"

I grew up next to a busy set of tracks in Toronto, and am well aware of how fast trains are, as well as how long it takes them to stop.
