New Comic Day + Work and Book Foo
Aug. 1st, 2007 04:58 pmThis week I got just one book.
New Warriors #3 (some nice moments here, still enjoying the series)
Full reviews up as usual at my comic reviews site for anyone interested.
Work was okay, but, wouldn't you know it, the one day I decide I'll show up a little closer to the time they've showed up the last 3 weeks? They decide to come mega early. Got a phone call while I was in the shower that they'd be there in half an hour, so I had to rush and take the bus to get there (and still wound up being a little late but not too bad).
So no lunch like I intended, but when I got back I had chicken and beans and some sort of cheesy macaroni thing.
Anyway, my shadow struck again. I had just decided to get Blindsight by Peter Watts in hardcover at the bookstore, when I showed up and found... they didn't have any left. Ah well. I actually made out okay, later at a used bookstore I managed to find:
Pandora Star by Peter F. Hamilton
and............
Cyteen, by CJ Cherryh!
The last is of course something of an accomplishment because it's a huge book and doesn't seem to wind up in used bookstores a lot. And, now that means that I own every hugo award winning novel except one (Paladin of Souls, by Lois McMaster Bujold). So yay me.
Tired now though, and hot and sweaty omg.
