Okay, I've previously done my pics for the Runaways themselves, although in a real movie they'd all be too old by the time it got filmed. The parents, though, _they_ could be cast without much trouble. So, over the last week or so I'd been thinking about it, inspired in part by a post on

the_hostel, but also by talk on the Ships & Giggles forum, about my pics for the Pride. No particular spoilers, aside from the identity and nature of the Pride, which really is revealed in the first couple issues of Runaways. Some large pictures though, so that's why it's getting cut. Comments and alternate ideas welcome.

Some I really think work, some I'm iffy on. I tend to cast heavily from shows/movies I already like, because, well, I'm not a big celebrity follower, chances are I won't know them otherwise.
The Wilders:
Easy choices, really. Geoff was pretty obvious, and the other is someone I've liked as a mom on another series... and in fact she played the Mom of my Alex pic, so, it's a natural.

Geoff Wilder: Avery Brooks

Catherine Wilder: Erica Gimpel

The Yorkes:
These are perhaps the hardest ones, and I'm not terribly satisfied with my choices. Well, I think Stacey works okay, depending on the choice for Dale.

The problem is that Dale Yorkes looks the oldest of the Pride, physically, and yet he also seems the most... _dashing_, and youthful in his Time Travelling gear. At least to me. So it's hard to cast him, I tend to either make him too old or too young. By that token, I've made one choice of each:

Dale Yorkes: Powers Boothe (played Cy Tolliver on Deadwood)

Also considered Eric Dane, but he strikes me as a bit too young, particularly if we go with my choice for Stacey:

Stacey Yorkes: Kathy Najimy

The Steins:
Not too hard. My main choice for Victor is a little bit off model, but I think he could play the role fairly well, be a bit creepy, a bit abusive, a bit mad-scientist. My backup choice looks a little more like him, at least in his main role (on a Disney), but that's sort of a broad comedy for kids so I can't tell if he'd be good in a serious role. I like my choice for Janet, who seems to me to be pretty close to how I imagine a live action Janet Stein.

Victor Stein: Steve Buscemi

or, less Celebrity-inclined, Brian Stepanek

Janet Stein: Jacqueline McKenzie (Diana Skouros from The 4400)

The Deans:
Since they're celebrities, I really wanted to cast people who were well-known faces, who I could believe as a Hollywood couple of some note, and who looked young. I think I hit Leslie pretty damn well off the bat, to me she has just the right mix of beauty and 'evil coldness' that the character flips between in the series. Frank looks a bit less like his character, but I've actually quite grown to like the idea of my choice.

Frank Dean: David Duchovny (I couldn't think of anybody good who was particularly well-known, and liked the idea of Mulder playing an evil alien).

Leslie Dean: Nicole Kidman

The Minorus:
Tina came to me right off the bat, but the only two Japanese actors I know off the top of my head are George Takei (great, but too old), and Masi Oka (great, but too young and doesn't look much like a dad). So, I basically just googled "Japanese American actors" and he was the first I found who looked the right age.
Robert Minoru: Alan Muraoka

Tina Minoru: Rosalind Chao (Keiko O'Brien from DS9)

The Hayes:
The mutants, so I felt they should have just a _hint_ of creepiness to them, but also they should conceivably be loving parents. And I also felt it was important they have a least a similar look, because I got a kind of creepy inbreeding vibe from them (maybe because their powers are exactly the same). My choice for Gene may be a _little_ old, but I think it's doable. I think Alice is spot on and could play both the Mommy role and the evil role well.

Gene Hayes: Jeffrey Combs (Long time character actor, Weyoun on DS9, also on 4400)
