newnumber6Two, weird, somewhat connected. One might have a story idea in there somewhere.
First one had some huge horrible cthulhuesque monsters under the ground that were potentially going to destroy the world. So, me and a bunch of others had to go down to try and kill them. One of the people on my side was a Thri-Kreen from various D&D worlds. ANyway, as we were wandering around, we met this race of intelligent subterranian snakes that were going to kill us, but they weren't all bad, they were just paranoid. The Thri-Kreen talked to it a bit, and then something happened that chopped both the thri and the snake in half. The two halves mixed and matched (so we had two half-ThriKreen half-snake creatures), and this somehow bonded their point of views and convinced them that we were on our side. So, we continued on to save the world and fight more of those horrible monsters.
Anyway, around this point I think I was drifting in and out of consciousness, so I became aware that this whole thing was imaginary. ANd, specifically, that we were being sent out to save an imaginary world. Which lead to all sorts of weird and tangled sleepishly philosophical wonderments about whether, since we're saving an imaginary world when it's in trouble, if our world were ever in serious trouble, if we'd receive help from a reality that was _more_ real.
Anyway, then somehow a (only somewhat) related story idea dreamed into my mind, but it's still too early for me to really judge if there's any real merit in it, or if it's just the 'being mostly asleep' that makes it seem good. The idea was that on Mars someone had discovered a way to tap imaginary worlds... not alternate ones, but specifically imaginary ones, for resources. The image of a spaceship landing, and the line, 'The tanks were still on 100% - the ship would only start to use them up during landing when it could no longer use the imaginary power source they were carrying.' And something about there being a whole Imaginary class of people.
