newnumber6(it actually took me this long to think of 10 things for each)
I'll list 10 things that either I like and think most others don't, or that I don't and think most others like. Reply with the ones that you have in common with me (though you don't have to like/dislike it for the same reasons). Post in your own journal.
10 things I like that most others seem to hate/dislike
1) Public transit
2) Spiders (they're just cool looking, and the whole web-building is fascinating)
3) Escargot
4) Reading for pleasure (I know people on my friends list are more likely to, but it just seems the vast majority doesn't 'get' reading)
5) The idea of no afterlife (it's just more appealing than pretty much any other choice).
6) Tap water (not only is it not insanely expensive, I genuinely think it tastes as good or better)
7) Comic Books (again, my friends list probably like it more than others, but I'm listing it anyway)
8) The last few years of Buffy (wasn't as good as what came before, but I still enjoyed it a great deal with the exception of the odd episode)
9) Spicy-hot foods
10) Unhappy endings in movies and books and tv (not all the time, mind you, but a fair balance of both - enough so that when you enjoy one you genuinely don't know what kind to expect.)
10 things I hate/dislike that others seem to like
1) Watching sports
2) Using profanity publicly.
3) Award shows, and particularly things like the best/worst dressed
lists on them. (I mean, come on, isn't there enough pain already
in this world that you don't need to get your kicks trying to
publicly humiliate someone because they don't fit into what you
think they 'should' be wearing?)
4) Chocolate ice cream, cookies, or donuts (chocolate itself, good, chocolate chips in something else, good - chocolate when completely mixed with something else is usually: what's the point of ruining the best
of both) - here dislike is relative. I'll always prefer a non-chocolate choice, but I'll still usually eat them, with the exception of chocolate cheesecake which is an abomination unto nature and should be purged from this Earth.
5) Caffiene. (I'll drink some things with it for the flavour, but
I'd really prefer not to have it.)
6) Music (here dislike simply means more or less lack of interest)
7) Brand names in things I wear
8) The idea of being drunk or high due to alcohol or other drugs
9) Cars. I just don't get the appeal to them, beyond their utility in transportation. I don't find any attraction to cars of a particular make or manufacturer.
10) Popsicles (at least, as traditionally eaten. I can't stand eating a popsicle off a stick, but take the stick away and put it in a bowl and I'll eat it just fine)
