Dream Foo again
Nov. 30th, 2005 08:37 amHad a couple of them... Lost cameoed in some, as did for some reason Friends, and completely obsessed with the word 'shelliac'. Oh, and also (I think) my first
alternaljournal dream.
Okay.
One I can only remember a little of it... I was babysitting somebody's kids and playing with legos, except the legos were like made of putty and kept warping when you put any pressure on them. Then the parents came home but for some reason I couldn't recognize them so I was reluctant to give the kids to them until somebody I did know came and told me that they were okay. I dunno where any of that came from.
One I was walking with a couple of people... Kate from LOST, Ross from Friends, and someone who was 'close enough' to Sawyer from LOST (he wasn't exactly anybody, but when I woke up and tried to figure out who it was, Sawyer was the first name that came to mind, so I'll just call him Sawyer). Those people who watched Friends might remember an episode while he was dating that English girl Emily, where he played Rugby with her friends. Anyway, in this dream, while we were walking around, we came upon a field. And the Rugby guys were there and they were running right for Ross in a 'hey, long time no see, let us crush you with our enthusiasm for seeing you again' type greeting. So Ross asked them to pass the ball to him (backwards, as I believe is the rule). Then, once he had the ball, he shouted, "Okay, now cover me!" in an effort to get them to, rather than rush him and bowl him over, to protect him from the other people rushing him and bowling him over. Eventually he passed it to someone else and used the confusion to get the heck out of there. Anyway, I'm not sure exactly why or how, but one of the rugby players was running straight for Kate. Sawyer was also in the way so he turned to get out of the way and accidentally in the process the guy running tripped over his heel. But Kate thought it was deliberate, and blamed Sawyer. I saw the whole thing and considered telling her but then realized that Sawyer was going with the misapprehension and not trying to claim it as an accident so I figured he wanted it that way and kept my mouth shut. One of the things Kate accused him of was trying to be chivalrous and 'shelliac', and (in the dream) I was really interested in the word and thought to myself, 'wow, you know, that's a great word. Why don't I hear that word more often?'
For those who are at all curious, the word Shelliac comes from a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode that I haven't seen in years. I recognized it, but while half-awake I wondered if it meant something in plain English that I didn't know. It seems it doesn't (except as a possible spelling of what I would probably incorrectly spell 'Shellaque').
That's about all I remember of that dream.
Finally, the
alternaljournal dream. We were crossing this forested or jungled area, and at our current temporary campsite we had a local who was injured, but we were able to get from them that we were very near a huge farm area, right after the elevation dropped through very steep hills. (I think Jack from Lost might have been our doctor, but I'm not sure). Anyway, me and a few others were looking out over the steep hill, and we saw two people down at the bottom. I waved on impulse, and they waved back. The guy with us, who turned out to be Mr. Eko, went back to base camp to tell the others we'd encountered locals, something we were trying to avoid until we learned more about them. Meanwhile Rose (alternaljournal Rose, not Lost Rose) and I introduced ourselves to the locals. First I tried to ask them if they could understand me and tap into the Universal Translation field, but it seemed they couldn't, so we made do with gestures while explaining our names... except while we were doing so, we were doing it in French. And for some reason Rose introduced herself as Dao (pronounced Day-o). While we were talking Eko had reached Base camp but they didn't want to let him into the secured perimeter because, as one of the tail section people, they weren't entirely trusted yet. Sadly, that's about all I can remember.
I had other dream-fragments of a few seconds or more (I remember one my dad picked me up from school in a pickup truck, for example) but that's about all the ones that had any detail to them.
Okay.
