Yesterday took the trip down to the comic store/tour of the bookstores.

Comicswise I got:
New Mutants #27 (not bad).

And at varying used bookstores, I got the following books:
Final Impact, by John Birmingham (book 3 of the Axis of Time trilogy)
A Thousand Words for a Stranger by Julie E. Czerneda
The Witling, by Vernor Vinge
Dark Light by Ken MacLeod
Redemption Ark, by Alastair Reynolds

On my way to the bookstore I saw somebody with a blue "The Angels have the Blue Box" shirt.

It made me smile a little, to see geeks still existing in the wild.

Hey, I have a copy of A Thousand Words for a Stranger kicking around. Worth a read? I'm unsure. Let me know what you think, either your initial impression or else when you read it.

Yeah, I found it in a dollar bin (which isn't necessarily a comment on quality, I've found some great books in those), and I've never read anything by her, but she's got one of those names I recognize when I hear it so I figured I'd give it a try. Of course, it's a first novel, and the description on the back of the book doesn't especially wow me, but I'll give it a shot eventually.

I did always like the title, though, even before I ever saw the book.
