1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Moved out and into an apartment.
Went to a comic-con
Started my own website
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never make New Years Resolutions - the last one I made was to stop making them, and I kept it.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
A step-sister-in-law is about the closest.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Luckily, no.
5. What countries did you visit?
Canada. I visited that one a lot.
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
Love, happiness
7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I'm horrible at remembering dates. Maybe May 1st, because that was the day I officially was renting an apartment (even though I hadn't moved in yet and can't remember that date).
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Hmmm... starting and continuing a regular exercise program (more than 4 months in now).
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not managing to keep XET going. I still regret that.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing of any particular note.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I'm not really about 'things'. The collection of books and comics I collected over the year, I guess.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Dunno.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Nobody really that I know of. Well, maybe depressed, but even then I can't call to mind any specific people or instances.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent, I guess. Which is new for me. After that, comics.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Me? Get really really excited?
16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
I don't listen to music, so music never really reminds me of years.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
I. happier or sadder? Same or sadder, through attrition
II. thinner or fatter? Probably either thinner or thicker but not fatter.
III. richer or poorer? Poorer, of course. But not by as much as I could be.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Fun
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Wasting time. Worrying about school.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Probably visiting my dad and stepmom.
21. [like last year, there is no question 21]
I'm answering it anyway: Albatross.
22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
Not with any real people.
23. How many one-night stands?
0
24. What was your favourite TV program?
Hmmmm... dunno. None really stood out, at least not of things that were actually airing new episodes. Probably a toss up between Lost and Stargate SG-1, and Dead Zone. Wait, Angel actually ended this year, right? So maybe that, even though the last part of the year isn't great.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I'm not about hate.
26. What was the best book you read?
Really tough call, as I've read a lot of books and have a really
hard time keeping track of which books I've read in a given
year. Maybe I'll go with the Waste Lands, because it's still fresh
in my memory, but I have a feeling it wasn't the 'best'.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I don't have much in the way of musical investigations.
Where one does not investigate, one rarely discovers.
28. What did you want and get?
A semi-regular gyro.
29. [what the hell? There's no question 29 this year?]
Apparently not. But I'm going to answer 'What did you want and not
get?'
Movement on a social life.
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Again, I really suck at determining what movies go with what years. Or what anything happened in what year. I didn't actually see any movies in theatres, I think. So, uhm... Return of the King again? I watched that again on pay per view, anyway.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 26, and had a dinner with family.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Falling through a dimensional portal into another universe.
Or, failing that, some kind of mutual love-thingie.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
The same thing I always wear. Jeans if at all possible, with a t-shirt. If at all possible, the t-shirt should have no obvious corporate logos on it, and be a solid color like grey. If at all possible, also wearing my brown suede magic jacket.
34. What kept you sane?
Sane? You obviously do not know me.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Can't think of any I particularly fancied, so, uhm... Jewel Staite.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Probably the whole US political cluster#%!%. A lot of the issues
sort of jumbled together in one big ball of stirr.
37. Who did you miss?
I miss a number of people. A lot of MU* friends I feel I've lost touch with... even some I see regularly, it's dropped off significantly.
I miss a few people who I had casual acquaintences with, that I talked to in person on a regular basis and then sort of dropped out of my life for one reason or another.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
I can't remember if I've actually met any new person this year of any particular note.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
When you can't run anymore, you crawl, and when you can't do that anymore, you find someone to carry you.
Okay, I can't really think of any real ones. I know a lot of lessons already, it's applying them that's hard.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Same old song... just a drop of water in an endless sea...
All we do... crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see..
