Nothing too big or too important. Basically, someone asked me to come on IRC and chat about something. The odd thing was it was very vivid, right down to reading what was going on. I can remember the gist of the conversation and it flows like a real IRC conversation, more or less. Which might be a negative statement about the places I've seen on IRC. But normally when I'm reading in a dream, I look up at what I wrote a response to and find something completely different. Here that didn't happen.

I've always heard that you know you're dreaming if you can't read text. Do you remember seeing actual words or was it just fuzzy and you sort of knew what was written? I never recalled reading anything in my dreams.

No, in my case I often remember seeing identifiable characters. I do, in fact, read. However, the thing is for me (and this is what I often use when I'm lucid dreaming, the thing that I can use to test if I'm dreaming once I have an inkling in that way) is that when I read something, and I look away, and try to read it again, it's _different_. Sometimes only slightly, but often completely. Digital clocks are the biggest thing for me - it'll never display the same time twice.

In this dream, it wasn't really the case that the text wasn't shifted - although this was probably in large part because it was in IRC, so anytime something changed, my mind would just rationalize it as 'oh, it scrolled off the screen', and I wasn't looking away often, for the most part I was just reading.
