So, did work, got home, settled in to try and sleep. Got about an hour of decent Zs, but then woke up... to my teeth hurting.

This happens - I have no idea why - from time to time, after work. Only after work, mind you. I never get this any other time, but after work, sometimes my teeth just ache, throb - not any particular teeth, just the whole jaw area almost. I wish I could figure out what causes it.

They settled down after about another hour or so of semi-pain, semi-consciousness, and I was a ble to get to sleep again, but bah. (They still twinge just a bit, but only once in a while)

Yeah, it happens to me too. The pain itself for me is nothing I can't handle, but after an hour I just want grab a hammer and break my teeth in, just to get rid of the persistent dull ache.

My theories are either I grind my teeth during the day without noticing it (but that's silly, I can' pretty much tell that I'm grinding my teeth or not..however, when I'm sleeping is a different matter). Or I'm lacking in some kind of vitamin. So hayzil got me centrum A2Z and I haven't had the teeth aching thing in a few days. So Try popping a multi-vitamin.

I don't tihnk it's that, because, as I said, this _only_ happens on days I work (which is only two days a week - for that matter, it only happens ont he Sundays). Not every day I work, just once in a while. So I don't think it's a vitamin deficiency, or grinding my teeth, as then I'd have it more often (unless I suppose I only grind my teeth from knowing I have to wake up early the next morning - but even then, there were other times I had to wake up early and never got this)

You could be clenching your jaw without realizing it. I do that when I'm really stressed out (and so could you if you're working) and while I'm sleeping. And it's not like it's something that's easy to catch yourself doing either (hence why you probably don't know you're doing it), but a constant jaw ache seems to me to be a symptom of TMJ. Hope that helps!!

Maybe, but my work is pretty low-stress.

I think I've had bouts of TMJ. But, I dunno. Sometimes I wonder if I have a mild allergy to _something_ there, and the symptom of my reaction is some sort of swelling on the jaw that causes this pain. But I can't think of what it might be.
