So, today I went through decon and gathered my things for an excursion through the shattered city towards the trading bazaar. My backup communications system, as I've told you before, lost its power supply and I needed to find or jury-rig a new one... and, bazaar's the best place for that, even though I have to get past the mutants and radiation-plague survivors. Made sure my base was secure, then ventured out, across the old bridge over the river and down the road, doing my best to keep out of sight. Saw many mutants, more than expected, but mutants aren't all that bad, necessarily.. still, you have to watch yourself against them, especially the ones that still live in the city and forage above-ground. Did see some possible plaguers, but none close enough to worry about, and I don't think they saw me. Finally made it to the bazaar, and luck would have it, they did have the power supply I needed. Not perfect, but enough to get it going. Also found a couple samples of pre-collapse literature I splurged on, and some rations, BBQ-flavored. Headed home, and went right to install the power supply in the backup com unit, to make sure I wasn't being ripped off... and success! It works...
For those who can't peer through the Walter Mittying, I got a new powersupply for my other computer, a couple old comic back-issues I was looking for (the X-Force issues with the New Hellions), and some BBQ tortilla chips. ;)
