Grar! Mouse bad! Hulk smash!

Okay, so the other day I dropped my mouse on the floor. While it still works, an annoying amount of time it basically reclicks when I UNCLICK. This is very annoying because basically it means I often get a double-click when I want a single click, and I have to try like 4 times to drag selected text with the mouse, because as soon as I release it, it reclicks and deselects it again.
I know it's a hardware problem, but I'd think it'd be simple enough to have a tiny program that would make it so you need some tiny amount of time from depressing to re-clicking, or the re-clicking won't be recorded. Yet I can't seem to find one. :P
Edit: See, here's what comes of being a packrat. I actually already had another perfectly working mouse lying around I just didn't know about. Still, this program I was looking for would seem like a fairly obvious program to create.
