Went to family coffee, and in the process saw my brother for the first time in... over a year, maybe two. He looked pretty good. Not quite a Wolverine look, just sort of long mutton-chops down to almost his chin, and still has long hair (though in a ponytail). Odd looking, but hey, I think it suits him.
Also met his girlfriend for the first time, though I've talked to her online. Seems nice, not quite what I was expecting, and a little more pierced than I anticipated, but I don't have a problem with that.
Luckily, the extended-family tensions that were building with him returning seems to have dissipated, and even my Grandmother seems to be happy to have them there, for the time being anyway.
Took up a whole big chunk of the coffee shop, largest crowd we'd had there for a while, and just chatted about various stuff. Discussed doing up a tabletop game, which might mean me GMing again (though I'll probably have my turn playing). Thinking of doing a GURPS with a 'crossing between different worlds' theme.
Also brought a new batch of books for my brother.. various different things, the Ender's Shadow book and its two sequels in paperback, the first couple Amber books, Shockwave Rider, and a couple others. In return I got back a couple of the books I loaned him before... most of them unremarkable, among the 'glad to see back' was 'A Deepness in the Sky' by Vernor Vinge, and the one I'd given up hope on, "I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson. Going to read that one again soon. Great story. More books I gave him will be coming by mail.
Anyway, it was really good to see him again. Will see them all again next weekend for Thanksgiving, of course.
