Had a whole mess of interconneced dreams before work. None of them really had a whole story, some of them actually involved LJ though.

Also, really annoyed at this thing on the news just a few minutes ago about a muslim girl in public school who was suspended and told not to come back until she was no longer wearing her hijab (sp? The head-scarf). Why? Because the school's dress code says no headgear. Bah, idiots. They _should_ get sued, and have to pay out thousands of dollars just for being stupid. These are the people that are supposed to teach the next generaiton?

Upon further reflection at work, I've figured out where the little girl who was dead (and yet surprisingly up and around and talking) came from. Riverworld was on TV last night, though I only caught the last half of it. If you've never heard of it, it's a movie based on a series of books by Philip Jose Farmer, in which everyone who ever lived on Earth (with a few exceptions that I won't talk about) wakes up after their deaths on another planet, along the banks of a river which winds around the whole planet. In both the book and the movie, one of the early characters was a kid, a young girl about 6 or so named Gwen, who didn't talk (in English, anyway)
The book series wasn't great.. good, at best, but the idea was so awesome I had to read it all, and it could make a great series. The adaption wasn't bad, but they made too many changes that I disliked that didn't seem needed to be changed.
It's one of those books where every once in a while, I just drift off into fantasyland and imagine what it'd be like if I died and suddenly found myself there.
Also watched another episode of Jeremiah last night, which oddly enough reminded me of the one Batman story I want to write someday.

So, today I was reading a PDF on my other computer (the windows one, I bet it's karmic backlash), and went upstairs to get something, and when I came downstairs again, the computer was off. So I tried turning it on again. No go. It was dead powerwise. I'm assuming and hoping the power supply on it died. Bah.
I don't use it all that much (maybe once a day), but I like having the option of going graphical when I want to. And, perhaps more importantly, Minesweeper. At least 5 times today I reached for my mouse to play a round of minesweeper during a slow moment and realized that no, the computer is still pining for the fjords.
Guess I'll have to get a replacement, and hope that works. Anyone know offhand if say, IBM-compatible power supplies are fairly standard (in terms of how they connect to the motherboard and drives and such)? Cause I tried one from an old dead (but still power-able) computer, but it was really old, 386-old, and the socket-thingies didn't match. Hope all it is the power supply box.
