newnumber6: Ghostly being (Default)
So, I occasionally nap a bit in the afternoon. Today, particularly, for some reason I was sleepy all day so I napped. Over the last little while I'm come to some conclusions about my sleeping and dreaming patterns:

1) While dreaming in a nap, I can hear things from outside and, although they may be twisted or warped, they come in through the dream.
2) The sense of touch is the one that comes through easiest and persists longest in a dream when you're only semi-awake... in nap-dreams, sometimes I go lucid and try to get out of my apartment so I can actually do something interesting in the dream, but my vision starts to fade out... and yet I can still feel myself running down the stairs, I can feel my footfalls (I can even feel that the last one is _wrong_ in the dream, my foot should have hit the ground a few seconds before it does)
3) There are times when I nap and I'm dreaming, MY EYES OPEN in the real world, but I'm still dreaming. It's a semi-lucid dream and I'm doing something, and suddenly my vision, in the dream, 'screws up' either going to some wonky image, or gets locked on a strange but mundane image, and I can move around, touch things, but my vision doesn't return to normal. What happens is I actually see what's in front of me... because of the way I sleep, it's not something I can immediately identify in a dream, it's like a fragment of the pattern on my pillow or something, but a couple times it's happened and I saw part of my arm and a cover, and it was only after I woke up that I noticed that my arm and cover were positioned in the exact same way as my vision was 'locked' to in the dream.
