This is a kinda weird one. An alien life form had been recovered, and I was a scientist studying it, sort of... the thing was, I had something like Stephen Hawking and was in a wheelchair and could barely move - not quite so bad as him, I could still talk without help. Also, the alien was the second to land on Earth. The first I also studied, but somehow disappeared. And I was trying to convince the government to let me in to see the Alien personally,b ecause I did it before with the first one and we had some meaningful dialogue that changed my life, but they didn't think it was safe in my condition, since I was close to dying. I wanted to keep working right up until then, though. Anyway, I'm not sure how, but the conversation somehow drifted to suicide, and under what circumstances we (me and the government person I was talking to) would kill ourselves. Weird.

This week I got 7 books:

Cable & Deadpool #19 (Disappointing, I want an issue like this to be a
lot better than it turned out)
Exiles #69 (Some minor problems, but I like where this is going)
Gotham Central #35 (Enjoyable, but it's the 3rd issue of a 4 part
arc, and feels like it)
House of M #6 (Good enough, things happen, but I wanted more in a number
of areas)
Outsiders #28 (Surprisingly, my pick of the week, mostly because it's
a quieter issue reflecting on recent events in the title)
Serenity #3 (of 3) (Ehh, if this mini was an episode of the series, it would be my least favorite by far. It's not bad, but should have been
much, much better - like the other parts)
Uncanny X-Men #464 (Disappointing on a number of fronts, I may wind up dropping this book if Bachalo sticks around)

Full reviews, as usual, at my comic review site.

EDIT: Oh, and because I know I have people on my flist who are Firefly fans and not comic fans in general but who are buying this series - depending on your area, the comic shipment may not be in today. I got it, and I've heard from others in Canada who have got it, but the official shipping date for the USA is _tomorrow_, due to the Labour Day holiday (some might potentially still get it early just by luck, but you can't depend on luck). Some areas of the US are naturally even more delayed for Katrina-related reasons.

For lunch I had a whopper.

Did some grocery shopping after work, picked up Hamburger Helper's new flavour because me and the roommates all want to try em, and they've been hard to find. The two flavours are Cheesy Enchilada and Four Cheese Lasagna. Now, you might remember me mentioning a while back that HH's Three Cheese Mannicotti actually had FOUR cheeses listed in the ingredients. So do you want to guess how many cheeses the Four Cheese Lasagna has listed in their ingredients?

No, not five. SIX. I'm just flummoxed. Beyond the 'truth in advertising' thing, that's not even the point. If you have SIX CHEESES, that's a selling point. I mean, which would you rather have, Four Cheese Lasagna, or Six Cheese Lasagna? Assuming you weren't lactose intolerant, anyway, in which case you'd probably go for the Four Cheese if you had to choose, but more likely wouldn't have either of them.
