Wow, who'da thunk it?
Apr. 1st, 2006 12:10 pmSo at work before the truck shows up I sometimes hang out in the staff room a bit, usually reading or whatever. Once in a while I talk to one of the people who work out front for a few minutes while they're on break or just about to go on or off their shift. Anyway, yesterday I was talking to one of the girls I've talked to a few times. And by 'talked to' I mean 'made vague mumbly responses while she talked to me'. Nothing in depth, but last Sunday we were talking a bit about the internet, because the truck was later than usual, and she asked for my e-mail address and gave me hers. I didn't do anything with it because, well, I'm me, and didn't really expect anything from it either.
Anyway, this morning I found that she e-mailed me, following up on something we were talking about. I responded, and then she responded to my response... and invited me to go see a movie.
Yeah. Did not expect that at all. I said that I didn't know what movies were out right now, aside from Slither (which I only know about because of Nathan Fillion of course) and she said she'd be wanting to see that.
So, yeah. Never expected that. Anyway, assuming nothing changes, the plan is as follows:
APRIL FOOLS!
Yeah, I know it's lame and you probably guessed it right away. Nowhere near as good as my last one (and zero chance of becoming self-fulfilling like that time), but it was all I could think of on short notice.

Just for that, you need to go on a real date with one of the girls at work.

Date: 2006-04-01 03:28 pm (UTC)Actually, even if I wasn't hopelessly shy and socially awkward and given up on the idea of dating, there really aren't that many people there now I'd have any interest in. I mean, sure, there's token girl-I-use-as-motivation-to-get-out-of-bed-on-Sunday morning, but even she has a boyfriend I think. Heck, I think everyone there falls into the 'has a boyfriend/husband' category, the 'not at all my type' category, or the 'I haven't even said more than a word or two to' category.
