Reply to this entry with your name and post these instructions in your own journal. I will go poke around your list of interests on your profile and ask you one question about one of them. You wax rhapsodic on the subject of your interest for the edification of all and we'll learn something keen about you.

Or in simple terms:

Reply to this meme, I'll pick one of your interests, and you tell me a whole bunch of stuff about it and we all learn a bit more.

Optionally, if you see in my comments someone not already on your flist, feel free to peek through their interests and, if you find something you're curious about, ask them about an interest too.

The New Universe? How can you still be interested in the New Universe?

Well, technically speaking, in this meme I'm supposed to choose one of _your_ interests. Then when you post the meme and I reply, you could ask me about the New Universe. But who cares about technicalities. :)

I just really love the New Universe. Oh, not all of it, certainly, some of it just plain sucked. But the core concept of it was great, and I just absolutely love DP7, really enjoy Psi-Force, and to a slightly lesser extent also enjoy Star Brand. (I'm also seemingly of the minority of New U fans who liked it 100x better after the changes brought on by the Pitt. They nuked Pittsburgh! How can you not like a series that does that?).

These series hold a special, easy to access place on my shelf, and they've probably been reread more than any other comics in my collection. I still think some great characters are buried in there (and that it was a shame when Exiles left their alternate NU without grabbing at least one of them for their team).

Anyway, I choose of your interests for you to talk a bit about why you liked... Prisoners of Gravity. Cause I also loved that show (assuming that's what you mean, and you're not just interested in people who happen to be a prisoner of gravity, but judging by the rest of your interests that's unlikely).

Why PoG? Oh, dead easy. Because it validated my interests. Back in the early '90s, before the internet became commercially available, being a geek in small town Ontario was TOUGH. Isolation was a killer.

To be able to turn on TVO every week and see that something I was interested in was interesting enough to enough people to be talked about on TV? It made me realize that maybe there was something to it.

That, and even then I knew Rick Green was a deity.

Well, it kinda helps to be logged in or at least give me some idea who you are. But since you're anonymous, I'll choose a random interest (literally, chosen from whatever popped up on a random website link). What do you think about Beirut?

Hmmm... okay, why are you interested enough in the 18th century to list it as one of your interests? :)

You do seem to have a lot of interesting and provocative interests, but I think I have to go with 'zombie contingency plans'

Read read read read read Kelly Link's Magic For Beginners. Short story collection. Overflowing with awesome. Actually I think her earlier book, Stranger Things Happen, is available for free off the net, I just haven't had time yet.
