Fandom Bits

Hmmm, Fandom Bits. That'd make a good cereal. Like Alpha Bits, but with Fandom. Little crispy bits shaped like the TARDIS or cylons or something. Slashmallows.
Anyway, found some Veronica Mars news here. I'll put the big bits for S3 behind a cut for the especially spoiler conscious, but really nothing much beyond casting stuff and a few stuff I already figured. Also, I rewatched S2 Episode 1 again since it started airing here in Canada, so I'll put some thoughts of that behind the cut too.
The big news! Tina Majorino (Mac) is officially on board as a regular! Yay! More Mac goodness!
Teddy Dunn (Duncan) won't be back, at least not as a regular, which I think is all for the best. I'm not a Logan/Veronica shipper per se, but Duncan was always a little boring and his arc feels 'over'.
No word on Weevil unfortunately, but Dick, Mac, Logan, Wallace, and Veronica will all be there in the same college, and a few new characters introduced as roommates.
Stephen King almost got cast in a role but was too busy. Maybe later.
Anyway, "Normal Is The Watchword" aired in Canada finally, even though I've already seen the season. Didn't really give any 'oh, in retrospect, what a giveaway!' moments for the big mystery. Oh, sure, I suppose there was a frame or two where you might have seen the Killer looking in a thoroughly ambiguous look that might look like he knew what was going on but was trying to act casual, but hell, I don't even know if the actor knew he was the killer at that point.
I still think the premiere was one of the weaker eps of the season, though. Got much better later on.
Runaways #18 tomorrow! The big day! And I mourn! I don't even know for whom yet, but I know it's gonna suck and be awesome at the same time! Also X-Factor and Civil War.
And it's not strictly a fandom bit, as I really have no interest in seeing the movie, but one bit from the commercials for Monster House crack me up:
"If those are the teeth, and that's the tongue, then that must be the uvula!"
"... So then it's a girl house!"
"... WHAT?!"
Long walk tomorrow. Also need to choose a new book. Or a reread, which is probably more likely.

Date: 2006-07-19 03:45 pm (UTC)If they make him spend all season being the janitor and being laughed at by Logan and Dick I WILL kill them.
Also WTF they should not have left Dick in the main cast... he shoudln't evne have been in the main cast last year.
