So I've been out of touch most of the weekend. The computer that serves as the hub for our little network here, err, well, died. So I've had very limited net access and been overall pretty bored.

Anyway, random foo.

Am I wrong for hoping the 'New Monopoly' fails miserably and costs the company millions of dollars?

I had a chance to test sample one of the Timmy-Ho's new breakfast sandwiches, sorta egg mcmuffin&sausageish thing they'll be starting in a week or so. Not bad. Probably wouldn't buy it, but it was nice for a little free meal.

Add 'those annoying beavers' from Bell and any commercial for Odd Job Jack to the list of commercials annoying the hell out of me lately. Though I doubt anyone on my flist who isn't Canadian has any idea what I'm talking about.

Stargate Foo: Spoilers for ep 9 of S10 of SG1 and S3 of Atlantis:

Sg1 had the Lucien Alliance striking out against the members of SG1 and the Odyssey. A reasonably good episode, although a lot of the little elements were predictable (I remember saying "well, he's dead" a couple of times long before the character died), it still did what Stargate does like few other shows - remembers past episodes and uses elements from them to build new ones. I love how they used the 'I am who you expect to see' chemical again. It'd be cool if they used it more often. Actually, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if down the line, someone else who met Cam-As-Ferris (or whatever the name was) gets encountered and he still thinks he's Ferris, because the deception never really was uncovered. Oh, and it was nice to see Ben Browder pretending to be evil. Although Cam isn't as over the top with it as John Chricton is. (Then again, Crichton has to impersonate the EEEEEEEEEEVIL PEACEKEEPER ACCENT, so he needs to be a bit more theatrical).

My favorite part of the episode though (paraphrased)?

Daniel: "Ready weapons to fire."
No Name Crewman: "Okay. And just for the record? I'm always ready to fire the weapons. I just push this button here."
Daniel: "Oh... sorry, I just thought that's what you say."

Atlantis? Meh, stock plot... decent handling of it, granted, but the plot itself really didn't hold any surprises and the character stuff was just mehish at best. Okay, but unmemorable. Also, at the end, even though the DHD was destroyed, you'd think they'd just send a Puddlejumper through. It doesn't need a DHD to open the gate remotely.

SG1 wins this week, producing the better episode.

New TV stuff starts this week! Well, some's already started, but more starts this week! Yay!

I think the Odd Job Jack commercials are hilarious...mind you, I don't watch the show and usually have the sound off during ads.

Well, it's only some of them, for particular episodes... some of them have something in them that just really grates on me for some reason or another. And, as I tend to watch a fair bit of the comedy network (fills dead time), they rerun the ads endlessly so it just builds and builds over the week.

I loved Browder being evil Cam this week. So much fun! And yeah, Chricton is so over the top as evil, but most of the peacekeepers were, so it was par for the course on that show.

So disappointed in SGA this week. It was incredibly meh.

Also? I want the new Monopoly to crash terribly.

I'm so ready for the fall TV to start this week! It's my favorite time of the year. I'm such a TV whore in the fall... my TiVos are going to be working overtime!

Heh... I don't have Tivo, so I have to do more strategic planning out of what to watch and such, but yah, new TV season is fun, even if it's just the high of excitement before the crushing disappointment of those shows you really getting excited for not being as good as you'd hoped or, if they are, getting cancelled really quickly. :) And then of course there's always new shows you just stumble upon because nothing else is on, and wind up liking.

But Shepherd SHOT Rodney! C'mon! That was HILARIOUS! :) And Carson was ADORABLE with his worrying (as usual) so all in all, I really liked the episode. :D
