From the last couple days.

One, I was at work, or rather walking towards work. Suddenly, I saw a bunch of cars turn into giant robots. Then they turned back. I realized it was some really elaborate (though cool) promotion for the upcoming Transformers movie. I got closer, and from close up the cars didn't look real (too many spaces where the parts had to come apart). Then one of them transformed in front of me, and it looked pretty cool. I gave it a 'thumbs up' sign sort of in a 'hey, cool promotion' and the robot mimicked it.

Somehow we got to playing around where the robot would pretend to try and kill me and I'd try to dodge. There was no real threat. Anyway, after 'dying' a few times, I hit on a new strategy and found out how to enter the transformer to where they were controlling it (somehow it was much bigger on the inside than the outside, but I didn't notice until I woke up). So I did and made a fake gun with my fingers and said 'bang, bang', then joked around that 'hey, if you kill the person controlling the robot, you kill the robot. I win this time.' And they conceded my victory, and we switched roles with the person inside controlling it heading outside to dodge the gun, and I realized that the robot was really extremely hard to control so they were really good to have gotten me.

That's about where I woke up.

Had another dream I couldn't remember very well a couple days ago. All I could remember was that I was roommates with [livejournal.com profile] tadiera. Except, we never really saw each other much because the place we shared was big and I'm the type who doesn't leave my room except to eat and use the washroom pretty much. That's about all I can remember about it.

Finally, last night I had a kinda cool dream, in that it was sort of the seed of a fantasy story plot. I doubt I'll actually expand it, but here goes.

The guy who plays Preston Burke in Grey's Anatomy was in it, except he wasn't a doctor, he was a history professor (just call him Prof for short), and a collector of antiques. Anyway, he bought some really old green-metalish steam-punklooking machine that had keys on which you type and a dial, and was described as something that granted wishes if you typed them in and used the machine the right way (which was lost to time).

He tried a few, but couldn't get it to work so dismissed it as a myth. He also had to go to class, so he did, taking the machine with him and fiddling with it a little. When he got to class, it started ticking strangely, and since it didn't have a clock on it anywhere, and looked odd, someone thought it might be a bomb, part of a terrorist attack.

People started panicking and demanding the bomb squad get called in. Prof tried to calm them down and did a big speech about terrorism and how panicking over everything was the wrong way to go about things. In the dream it was actually quite stirring and eloquent, but I can't recall a word of it when I woke up.

Anyway, the class started to agree and then Prof noticed that the device was just gone. But one of the other students pointed out to a student with a sort of bad reputation who was near the device, and was trying to leave with it stuffed in his shirt.

They forced him to give it back, but it had stopped ticking.

A little while later, someone asked him (the thief) about stuff like why he did it, and why he did, and he said something about living in a refugee camp when he was younger, and how people thought he was crazy.

Someone else said they'd heard, that he'd told wild impossible stories about himself, like about fighting one of Conan's enemies.

Thief guy sorta was noncommital.

Then the someone else (he wasn't facing him) said he needed to know which one it was, and that it was important. Thief-guy (who I guess by this point was me) turned around and saw the person asking him was either a strange white furred creature, or was _with_ a strange white furred monster, which proved that he knew that Thief's crazy stories weren't just made up, he'd really been to other universes.

That's about where I woke up.

Now, here's where my brain worked a little more overtime while I was half-asleep and still awake, considering the dream and making connections that weren't actually in the dream:
The device was actually an otherworldly device to transport oneself between universes (the 'make your wishes come true' was just a myth, except perhaps the possibility of finding an alternate dimension where your wishes _were_ true). The thief had travelled between universes a lot when he was younger, and so recognized it, and didn't want someone using it accidentally and get lost. Especially since before he came to class, the Prof had accidentally 'activated' it in the right way - it was building up power to work. If left alone long enough it would have transported whoever touched it when it was 'ready', but even worse if the bomb squad was called in and they detonated it (as the bomb squad sometimes does), the portal would have been super-powered and sucked the whole area into another dimension. So he had to act to turn off the machine and try to smuggle it away. As it turned out, I guess he was infected with some of the dimensional energy for white-hairy-alien to appear, or maybe it was just coincidence that white-hairy-alien was looking for him.

Anyway, that's about it.
