newnumber6: Ghostly being (Default)

This week I got 4 books:

Civil War: Young Avengers & Runaways #4 (some good moments but some of my previous problems with the mini continue)
Teen Titans #40 (enjoyable but didn't have the impact it should have)
Ultimate X-Men #76 (not bad)
Wisdom #1 (My Pick of the Week, I'd almost like to see this an ongoing, but have some problems with the art)

Full reviews up as usual at my comic reviews site for anyone interested.

For lunch I had a hot corned beef sandwich with mustard, and a little bit of vielnic w/cheese.

As for work...

Well, the day started out so nicely.

There was fog.
I love fog. Fog is probably my favorite weather of all time. Aside from reminding me of the Ravenloft campaign setting, there's something magical about the way it obscures buildings and such, like it's very softly eating the whole world, and I'm in the only part left.

It wasn't as thick as I like it, but there was a beautiful spot on the bridge where it looked like a bridge to nowhere, from nowhere.
Something awfully powerful in that to me.

Also on the walk, I decided on the short story I'll work on next. It's fantasy, and it's an old idea of mine, kind of a twist on a traditional 'type' of fantasy stories, and set in the modern day. I'm sure the twist has been done before (probably many times), but I've never seen it done so I can write it without feeling guilty of repeating someone.

I really do recommend long walks for anyone who's writing, it has a remarkable way of getting the plotbunnies in line.

Anyway, got my comics, read them, and got to work, and sat down to read... and read... and read.

The truck, you see, was late. Over an hour late. Not all that bad, in and of itself. But the load was also higher, with a lot of crap there wasn't room for. And, finally, the truck driver was a new guy, so he didn't know where anything went.

So it was slow going. And tiring. And bleh.

Also, someone at work said I was like an angel. Of course, they didn't mean I had a beautiful face, or magical ninja-angel powers, or that I was a good person, it was just because I was perched in my usual reading spot on top of the high shelf, and they thought I looked sort of like an angel on a tree or something. I found it amusing, anyway.

Wow.. That sounds really pretty. But fog messes up my hair... lol

We're going to but Spawn #161 on Saturday. Well, Riaz is. I just go with to look at the figurines in the Comic Book shop.

Well, yeah, there's that, but my hair is messy anyway, so it's not an issue. :)

Never really got into Spawn myself, but figurines are cool. Course, I've never bought any of them either, but still cool.

Nah.. I don't buy them either. I just like looking at them. I always go "One day I'll buy the Jack Skellington one"... and Riaz looks on, shaking his head slightly. I never got into Spawn either. I leave that to him. I read his Superman ones though. Apparently Superman dies. *shocked face* I told it was blasphemy and couldn't be true because, come on, dude, he's SUPERMAN! So I had to read to find that out.

I don't really read Superman, but I know he died about ten years ago.

He got better.

That seems to happen a fair bit in comics. ;)

(Except, alas, for most of the characters I _really_ liked that died)

Yeah.. like Goku in DBZ. I just stopped counting how many times he died and stopped being sad everytime he did (yes, I'm sad like that. He was hot, ok?! *hides face in shame*). They always come back, yo.
