Wow, during my post-work nap I just had what was like the longest stream of lucidity ever.
And to think, it hit only seconds after I was thinking of just getting up from my nap.
Anyway, it wasn't _completely_ lucid as I forgot to do some projects that actually would have benefited from longer time (trying to see if I can program my subconscious in some way to, among other things, make lucid dreams more frequent), and also there seemed to be an ongoing stream of false awakenings where I was convinced that I had to get to school (which I've been done with for a while) before realizing I was still dreaming. And even within the lucid part of the dream I thought I still lived, say, near my old high school or things like that.
But I did a number of other things. Let's see... did most of the standards. Flying of course. Some limited mind control of dreamitizens. At one point (after a point where I thought I had woken up and was rushing to get to school) I bent a bus station pole with my mind and then later when Mulder and Scully came by on a motorcycle I sliced the motorcycle in half with my mind. Hmmm... some summoning of people, but couldn't get anyone specific so I tried summoning specific 'types' (by appearance) and that worked a little better. Oh, and perhaps most interestingly for me, after what felt like I was starting to wake up, I concentrated my way into the dream state and used it as an opportunity to change my location (I was inside, the entire world started to darken as it does when I'm about to wake up so I concentrated on just walking, walking outside, and suddenly I was. Teleportation's always been remarkably hard for me so I'll count that. I think I even explained to a dreamitizen that I was the equivalent of god on their world (they didn't have any requests).
Oh, and Kirstie Alley for some reason had a guest starring role as a teacher.
Very vivid overall too. Sometimes my lucid dreams are a little fuzzier than normal ones, like they might break at any moment or that I'm very near to half awake and just almost just imagining it rather than seeing and feeling it as though I was there, but this one was sharp and in the moment for quite a long time.
I'd almost say I was starting to get bored with the lucidity and near omnipotence going on so long but... who am I kidding, it didn't go on long enough. ;)
Two other things:
At one point there was a strange infusion of anime people into the dream world. Just a few were among the people at school at one point. And there were a lot of identical ones I've seen in people's avatars on LJ (it's a girl that creepily waves back and forth like she's cheering or a zombie demon from hell or something).
Also, I think Cingular has discovered the means to advertise in people's dreams, because twice during the dream something tried to get me and I was able to have a near miss and I heard a voice saying sometihng along the lines of 'Cingular - We'll keep them from you' (what, dropped calls?), and I was like WTF? The first time a snake was luring in wait to try and bite me but I flew over it, and the second time I was sort of half flying half swinging spider-man style when I noticed somebody was attached to me on a rope. It looked a little like the Scorpion (Spider-man villain) I tried to lose him by flying him into something but he managed to get close before another building came up and knocked him away and I heard the slogan.
In other news, I heard on the TV that Time Magazine has named me its man of the year. They didn't have a picture, just used a picture of a computer monitor, which, I suppose is good enough a representation of me anyway. Anyway, I'd like you all to know I'm honored, and I won't let it go to my head.
