Yeah, actually, it's a little strange. When I heard they were considering taking out the school shooting scene, I thought, "oh, crap, that's a pretty decent scene, how are they going to write around that so it makes sense and is still cool without 'offending' somebody". But when I saw it, that scene is pretty much intact... what's changed? The scene at the very beginning, where Sarah fetches John... instead of being in the middle of class, he's alone in the library or something. Except, in that scene nothing in particular happened to any of the kids. I mean, okay, the whole school was destroyed, but it was a dream, and so was the rest of the world, so it's not as though any dream children actually escaped death by virtue of (I suppose, theoretically) not being at school that day!

But since it was such a minor thing it didn't bother me at all, I just sort of wonder at the logic of it, you know? Maybe it was some bureaucrat saying, "Okay, you have two seperate big action shots with bullets flying outside a school full of kids, and we want you to cut that to one" and so they cut down the one that didn't mean anything.

There were a few other minor changes, the only big one was due to a recast - Sarah's fiance was changed from the guy who played an Ori soldier in Stargate S10 (and part of 9), who in Terminator seemed fairly normal and sympathetic to some generic-seeming 'tough guy'. The first guy wasn't great, but I much preferred him to the recast. Meh.

And yeah, re: SG, mainly I was just too lazy to do another lj cut and decided that nothing I had to say was particularly spoilery so I just put it all vaguey. :)
