Birthday and unrelated rant...

First, Happy Birthday
geomant!
Secondly, I just want to rant a bit on Heroes, season finale last night. Major spoilers behind cut.
Okay, so, Sylar kills Nathan and they use Matt to convince Sylar to think he _is_ Nathan and transfer all his memories over.
Fundametally speaking, there's nothing wrong with this plot. In the right hands, it might be good.
The problem is, they ignored a glaring plot hole.
CLAIRE'S BLOOD COULD HAVE HEALED NATHAN EASILY.
I mean seriously, is there a character in Heroes running around that makes characters have the memory of a goldfish? HRG WAS SHOT IN THE HEAD, PRESUMED DEAD, AND THEN REVIVED HOURS LATER. THIS ISN'T SOMETHING YOU SHOULD JUST FORGET. CLAIRE WAS RIGHT IN THE AREA WHEN NATHAN DIED. IT WOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN MUCH.
And it could have been easily avoided too, just have Sylar use one of his powers to burn Nathan to a crisp, for example, while somebody watches who could identify what happened.
It's like how earlier in the year Mohinder (and for that matter, later the government agents) were talking about how there was no cure for their abilities, despite that the WHOLE PREVIOUS SEASON DEALT WITH A VIRUS THAT COULD TAKE POWERS AWAY.
THIS IS HORRIBLE WRITING. DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT SAYS? It says, who gives a $!%! what happened in this episode? Because based on how closely they follow their own continuity, next season it might turn out that Nathan is alive and really they tricked Sylar into thinking he's Mama Petrelli. That Ali Larter's character is actually Nikki and not a twin, despite her being in a funeral and the ice girl having had an extended life. That Ando never actually had powers at all, and that Daphne survived her injuries and broke up with Matt rather than dying a few episodes ago.
Because they don't bother to follow what they established in previous episodes, even when only the most minimal plotting-around-a-problem would be required to avoid it.
I'll forgive Bryan Fuller who hasn't actually been around during previous seasons, and who I've loved a lot of work before from actually being _called_ a Hack, but it was certainly Hacky-writing. Oh wait, he didn't actually write the episode. Tim Kring did.
So, there you go.
TIM KRING, YOU ARE A HACK. On the level of RTD.
