newnumber6So, today I was reading a PDF on my other computer (the windows one, I bet it's karmic backlash), and went upstairs to get something, and when I came downstairs again, the computer was off. So I tried turning it on again. No go. It was dead powerwise. I'm assuming and hoping the power supply on it died. Bah.
I don't use it all that much (maybe once a day), but I like having the option of going graphical when I want to. And, perhaps more importantly, Minesweeper. At least 5 times today I reached for my mouse to play a round of minesweeper during a slow moment and realized that no, the computer is still pining for the fjords.
Guess I'll have to get a replacement, and hope that works. Anyone know offhand if say, IBM-compatible power supplies are fairly standard (in terms of how they connect to the motherboard and drives and such)? Cause I tried one from an old dead (but still power-able) computer, but it was really old, 386-old, and the socket-thingies didn't match. Hope all it is the power supply box.
