So, saw RotK today. Will give my thoughts a bit later, but first I must talk about the experience, surrounding it, such as it was.
Arrived and learned if we wanted to go into the showing we wanted, we could only sit in the first few rows. Since my dad needs to sit in the back to see, we opted to wait for the show starting an hour later, giving us an hour and a half wait.
There was an idiotic jack@$$ in a santa outfit wandering the theatre, an employee of some sort. Shortly after we were admitted to the theatre and found our seats, he came in to do a little 'hey, buy a membership and you get free parking, blah blah blah'. And you know, I can understand that. It's part of the job. What I can't understand is him 'vamping', walking around, trying pathetically to work the crowd and generally annoying everyone, asking various people questions and putting the mike to them (one 12 year old girl called him annoying and everyone generally agreed when he asked)
So, he sulked off... for a few minutes anyway. Then he came back, to do more. So annoying. And finally, he and a couple other employees of the theatre started to sing christmas carols, badly. (Incidentally, some idiot in the back threw a penny or something at them while they were singing, and hit a woman sitting a few seats down from me in the head. Didn't even have the guts to admit it).
Finally, he left and we got to the previews. Saw previews for a couple things I dont care about, some Vin Diesel movie. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow which had cool effects but looked a bit too kistchy for my tastes. The Butterfly Effect, which looked surprisingly not terrible for an Ashton Kutchner movie (I won't see it in the theatres, but if it comes on TV I'll probably watch it)
The best one was Spider-Man 2's preview. I held off on watching it online cause I had a feeling they'd show it for RoTK and I wanted to see it on the big screen. Looks great. Really looking forward to it.

Now, of course, we move onto the main event, Return of the King. It was great. Long, dragged in some parts, but great overall. Wanted to be there. And, of course, I got choked up at a couple parts (but in a very manly way).

Had a headache by the time it was done, though... probably from sitting so long in 1 or 2 positions.
