Back, anyway. Have a headache, but I managed to post my report fromt he Cup of Joe panel on http://www.unreachablestar.net. A quick look at the big comic websites I visit shows that I beat them, so yay, scoop! Well, not much big news there, anyway.

In other news, there were some very lovely cosumes on some people, and very disturbing ones on others. I saw various celebrities up close, but didn't talk to any of them.

However, I got within spitting distance of the following: George Takei (Sulu from Trek), not only while he was signing autographs, but also when he passed by in a hallway.
Julie Benz (Darla from Buffy/Angel)
Robia LaMorte (Jenny Calendar from Buffy).

And, of course, Joe Quesada from Marvel.

In all these cases, if I was bolder, brasher, I _could_ have talked to them, even without getting an autograph (which cost like $25, so I wouldn't bother). And when I say spitting distance, I mean it, I could, if I desired, spit, and got them. I didn't, you'll be glad to know.

I also saw from a slightly more distant distance, Cirroc Lofton (Jake Sisko from DS9) and Michael Dorn (Worf).

Saw while I was there the X-Men shirt I'd been looking for, but didn't get it right away and by the time I came back after the Joe Quesada panel it was gone, so drat me. Couldn't find it elsewhere.

I didn't get anything signed because the line for Joe Quesada was moving sooooo slow and I had this headache thing, so I just ducked out of the line, headed home, and had a gyro.

And on the slightly more depressing (and so therefore skippable) side...

Well, nothing happened. I didn't even manage to talk to one person (aside from the 'is this the line for...' or 'sorry I bumped into you' type conversations).

I felt a bit like an outcast even among geeks. I can't communicate with people face to face. Some people occasionally tell me that I should try and go out occasionally, rather than staying home all the time. That it's better for me, I suppose, because something could happen. This puts the lie to that, IMHO. If nothing social-wise happens there, I don't think it's ever likely to, and spending time outside is just a waste because it leaves me empty and unfullfilled. So does staying indoors, but at least there I'm more comfortable, and I (sometimes) have people to talk to.

So yay for the life of a shut in.
