newnumber6: Ghostly being (Default)

Dream Foo. Two dreams. One sort of weird, and one kind of cool (and I suppose weird too, but it's weird in a way that makes sense, if that makes sense)

First, the weird one. In the dream, apparently, actor Alan Tudyk (Wash from Firefly) was a teacher. That isn't to say the dream was about a teacher who looked like him, it was that the actor, although he was in movies and TV and such, was also a teacher, of, like, high school. As such, for some reason, fans would go in and attend his classes, among the other kids. Nobody apparently saw anything wrong with this, and I was among the people going. And he was a fairly good teacher (except for one bizarre moment where he tried to motivate a student by calling him 'soldier', and referring to him as a Browncoat). Anyway, after class the fan segment of the class went up to talk to him and get autographs... i didn't want to get an autograph, but I was going to try and say hello.

The second dream involved aliens. Apparently, the world was going to end soon, so the alien went around recruiting people to go on their spaceship as sort of a way to preserve the last bit of humanity, keep the genetic diversity of humanity going. Except, instead of trying to get people with any particular skills, they started by gathering homeless people, people who didn't really have much connection to Earth. After that, they gathered people who were sort of already outside of society... which included internet people (and a few MUSH people I know), and, hey, myself. Anyway, while we were getting ready to go, they were training all of us to do one specific task on the ship. Even if it was something simple like 'read this guage and when it hits 10, press this button'.
I later found out that the aliens had a sort of hive mind thing going, so that what one knew, everyone knew, and I thought at first that they were training us in the specific way thinking that once they trained everyone in one thing, everybody would know everything. I tried to point out that it wasn't going to work like that, but they explained it was something different; the ship itself was part of the hive, and telepathic, so as long as we _knew_ what to do in what situation, even if that just amounted to doing one tiny tiny task really really really well, the ship would know and perform it automatically. Apparently it couldn't grab everything from one person, but it could grab a few things that we were focused on (our one task) from everyone on the ship.

The aliens looked pretty much human, but with sort of an angelic-style 'glow' to them. The ship, I guess, looked kinda like Moya from Farscape except a little more purply.
