newnumber6Dream last night, of the somewhat relationshippy but more like a bad teen drama anyway.
Basically, in school I ran into one of my old friends from junior high. He was one of my best friends, but moved away. Anyway, in the dream, he came back (for some bizarre reason, although I've never met anyone with the name or called him that, in the dream he was called 'Cayman', so I'll refer to him as that to avoid using real names) and was now going to the same school. So, we hung out. And, he had a girlfriend, a cute blonde girl who I knew in a dream-sense (that is, I don't think she represents any person I know in real life, but in the dream we knew each other from a while back). We even skipped a couple classes of school to go to the mall.
Anyway, at the mall, the blonde girl tried to hold my hand, but I drew away because, well, her boyfriend was a good friend of mine, and that's like 'the code' - even if you like the girl (as I guess I did), she's off limits. She mentioned something about always wanting to go out with me but hooked up with Cayman because she had no idea where I was anymore. She got closer to tell me these things and I was still drawing away, but Cayman saw us together and figured something was up. Anyway, I told her that as much as I wanted to I couldn't date her unless Cayman was okay with it. So, we all got into some kind of argument, but I can't recall exactly what happened, and woke up around that point. Figures, but at least I acted semi-honorably about it.
As a minor AlternalJournal update, I've narrowed the possibilities down. I've decided that I need to leave Earth-As-We-Know-It - setting it after some calamity on Earth or giving me super powers or something risks me getting something obviously wrong about, say, the time it would take to walk from point A to point B. So, that leaves me with three main possibilities:
1) A farscape like situation (not exactly mind you, and with none of the universe or characters), where I somehow wind up as a space traveller cut off from Earth.
2) A Sliders like situation (again, not exactly) - with some device to travel between paralell Earths, but with no ability to find home.
3) A Narnia/Planescape-like situation - somehow cross over into a portal to another dimension with slightly different physical rules. I'd probably use my RPG world cosmology for it because it saves me on work.
Leaning more towards 2 or 3 but haven't decided yet.
