New Comic Day!
Jan. 26th, 2005 03:32 pmThis week I got:
Batgirl #60 (a 'new status quo' issue, but not bad)
Mystique #23 (okay, bit disappointing in spots)
New X-Men #9 (fun, my pick of the week)
Robin #134 (ehhh. Hate the art, story didn't do anything for me)
Sleeper Season Two #8 (more dark and disturbing than usual)
Ultimate X-Men #55 (hell, read it for yourself)
Uncanny X-Men #454 (jumbled combat issue)
Full reviews are of course at The Unreachable Star.
Also at the used bookstore, I picked up "The Year's Best SF 6", a short story collection. For lunch, I tried McDonald's Leaning Tower Italian, which was quite nice actually. A little spicy to it, but not overly so.
Work was... meh, work. Boss saw me and the guy I work with talking while waiting for the truck, and said, "Hey, if you guys aren't doing something, do you mind..."... Now, that's always a bad sign. The other guy said 'sure' without really waiting to see what it was (although, granted, even if we had we probably would have agreed, grudgingly.. it's the Boss after all)..
It was shoveling and salting outside. Yay, what fun.
Luckily, not 5 minutes after we started, the truck arrived, and that took priority, and after it was gone we were done with our job and could go home. Still, it's like the Ghostbusters line: 'If someone asks you, if you're a God, you say YES." If someone asks you if you want to do some extra work since you're not doing anything, you say NO, unless they offer to pay you extra (or, I suppose, if you're getting paid by the hour, in which case you're on their time). :)
