Anyway...
Had this dream that I was reading a short story/watching an adaptation of a weird short story or something.
In it, there was this farm.... and a visitor to the farm was staying with them a few days, except she kept finding something weird - every once in a while, one pig would disappear, and there'd be an extra cow.
The people who ran the farm explained that sometimes a pig would be able to sneak out of its pen, and if it found its way to the cow pen, the cow might give it a nudge and choose it to become a cow, and a while later the pig would have turned into a cow. The visitor woman didn't believe this, thought they were playing a joke on her, especially since sometimes they'd find a new cow in the pig pen.
She still rejected the explanation the farmers gave, simply by the fact that if this sort of thing occured, we'd all know about it. But cows didn't reproduce like that. And then something happened where she was out in the fields tending to the cows and she saw a pig who had begun to get the black and white spotting of cows... and she was stunned. She wandered out along the road, wondering how it could be, and asked, 'Well... we don't really _know_, we just hear how things happen. Has anyone ever actually seen a cat reproduce? she asked herself... For all she knew, maybe they reproduced by budding, like a plant (or a gremlin). Maybe pigeons were immortal... and maybe we just all need to believe things happen in a sane, consistent way, so we ignore the evidence until we can't anymore. Then she thought about warning people that cows can choose pigs to become cows, and who knows what else...
and then she looked down at her arm, and noticed it was white with black spotting.
A few hours later, some farmers came by and were surprised by their find... an unmarked cow standing in the middle of the road by a pile of clothes. So they figured they'd take her in.
And (and this line was actually in the dream short story as the last line:)
"And for the next two weeks, she was quite happy as a cow, and even after that, very tender."
I never said it made sense, just that it was weird.
Also had another dream I don't remember too well, although I do remember waking up from it and thinking how I was pretty mean or evil or something in it.
