Dream Foo: The Road to Hell + Meme Foo

newnumber6Only one dream worth note tonight...
The basics of the dream were that it was some high school field trip type situation, except someone on the bus was in serious danger because she was dating a member of a gang (I think mafia style rather than street-gang). Somehow that got us all in trouble, and I was assigned (I dunno by who, I was only partly me in the dream) to protect her, and to protect everyone else by extension.
Unfortunately, the feeling was that nowhere on Earth was safe, so I had an idea. Go to hell. Or, to be more specific, go to the Nine Hells, Baator, from AD&D/Planescape. Somehow I figured I knew I could keep the people alive and whole there and we certainly wouldn't be followed.
In order to get there, we had to reach the portal, and to get to the portal we had to get down into the subway system. We got onto the platform right as a train was approaching, and one person in the group got on, but none of the rest of us did. Except being a holiday (apparently) the trains weren't running on a regular schedule so we had to wait a long time for the next one. So I decided to give them a little briefing on how to survive in Baator, how to make sure the baatezu hold to their word, etc. I think a bunch of people went up stairs to the rest of the station to wait until they heard the subway coming and get snacks. I think I woke up as there was another race to get down the stairs before the subway car left.
Oddly, the only other dream bits I remembered last night were sort of echoes of the other dream. For example, somehow a later dream seemed to be 'backstory' for the 'me' in the dream, which included a semi-successful audition for American Idol (semi-successful because it was as part of a band, and although 'me' got through, the band didn't, and thought seriously about not going through at all. Anyway, no idea why that would be part of backstory, since I don't sing at all.
