Dream Foo: Lucid!
Feb. 28th, 2006 10:19 amAnother Lucid Dream
Started out that I was in school. Well, actually I was outside of school. I was sitting outside and I saw someone had graffitied AR. I was bored and took out a pen and wrote an F beside the AR, more out of idleness than anything else. Then soon after that I looked up and I saw the Vice Prinicipal coming (he looked a lot like the guy who plays the Warden from Prison Break). I was hoping at first that he was just walking by, but no, he came right toward me to get me in trouble for defacing school property. He tried to suggest I come back after school and, not clean it up, but rather write a whole essay on why it's wrong to deface public property ON public property. I was trying to explain to him calmly that I wasn't meaning any harm, I didn't really do any harm, and although I realize what I did was wrong and I take responsibility for it, I thought his reaction was a bit over the top for something so minor.
Anyway, about that time we were all sent in because it was time for classes to start, and it was around here I realized it was a dream. I was willing to let it go a bit just to see where the dream took me, and maybe I'd wind up in class with old friends. Although the first class I went into was wrong (the kids were all kindergarteners or something I think). I came out and looked for what was supposed to be my class, but everything started getting really dark - this usually means I'm starting to wake up. I fought against it by trying to put my mind in a zen state (emotions like excitement or panick tend to wake me up faster, so to remain in a dream when starting to wake up I attempt to think 'lightly' and without any emotion) and at the same time come up with alternate, in-dream explanations for the darkness, and at the same time rubbing my hands together (focusing on in-dream sensations grounds you to the dream world, and rubbing hands together is the quickest and easiest to do when the scenery's fading). So I didn't wake up, and the whole situation shifted. Literally, under my feet I felt the jolt of a sudden shift, and realized that I was now on a subway car stopping. I got off and headed upstairs and tried to look for a way out because there's usually little lucid fun I can have in a closed in space. Except the subway system was all maze like. So I concentrated to ensure the next hallway I walked down lead to an outside exit.
Once outside, I started flying, although my control was slipping and I couldn't go in the direction I wanted, and while trying to regain control I woke up. Ah well. Not the greatest in lucids, but I at least managed to do a few cool things.
