Involving other dimensions and the powers of imagination (in-dream)
Okay, in this dream me, my brother, and for some odd reason my stepbrother were on another world, exploring it, I guess sorta similar to the setup in my
alternaljournal, I remember even mentioning the word 'slippage' in the dream. Anyway, we didn't know much about the world except it was abandoned, and we were looking through a house to get clues about what kind of people lived there and maybe what kind of apocalypse happened to them.
Anyway, we were digging around and suddenly we realized that the leftover mail in the house was written in English, which meant that this world must have been descended from English speaking settlers (who experienced slippage into a new world). Then I was digging even furthur and encountered something surprising... an old school ID. Except, it was my brother's old school ID from when he was a teenager. There was no rational way that could have been on another world, so that meant this had to be the Earth of the future or an alternate history somehow.
Unfortunately at this point, the scene shifted as somebody 'came home'. Not to the house into the alternate dimension/future/whatever, but to the 'real world'. And we stopped what we were doing and it was revealed we were just basically goofing around playing 'let's pretend' in our imagination. Except, when we did that, instead of imagining as I normally did, it was more like a dream where we experienced all the sights, sounds, and sensations of whatever we were imagining as if it were live.
Which is of course always one of those abilities I wished I had, since imagining stuff is fun and all but it would be awesome to be able to imagine some fantastic situation and have it be like a portable holodeck, so waking up from the dream kinda sucked.
