First, Merry Christmas to all that celebrate it. And to all that don't... you're destroying America!

But I'm a Canadian, so that's a compliment. ;)

Oh, and happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] escap1974 who is also celebrating a birthday today.

Anyway, I'm all Christmassed out, did the family thing yesterday and now it's just chillin' at home doing nothing.

First there was the main family dinner, which was certainly good: Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, ham, carrots, corn, turnips, and for dessert cheesecake tart/cupcake things. Got lots of leftovers from that.

Then we did the presents thing. Then (after a lot of scrambling to figure out how to drive some other people home and such) we went over to my aunt's place so we could see our relatives from that side of the family and my of course give my grandmother her gifts. They had much better food. Well, not better from a quality standpoint, but we just had a big turkey dinner 2 months ago, and so although it's very good, it doesn't get me excited like eating a bunch of stuff I haven't had in forever. So I ate again there from lots of their appetizers - greek sausage, some little tzatziki wraps, whores doovers (or as normal people call them, hors d'oerves), bread, meatballs, seafood noodles, roast pork, zelnic. Mmm. Got some leftovers of the desserts there which I actually didn't get to try while there but I'm sure it's good.

So, overall, aside from a few awkward/annoying/frustrating moments that nearly developed into an argument it was a pleasant holiday, pretty usual (aside from a strange but pleasant ride from Oshawa into Toronto that seemed mostly to revolve around the Wonders And Dangers of Science In The Near Future).

Oh, and the Official Haul:

Money
X-Men 3: The Last Stand DVD
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers DVD (from my Mom, actually given to us when she visited)
A shirt
some chocolates
A flashlight + batteries
A men's grooming kit thingie (with nail clippers, razor, file, and a bunch of other stuff - all the guys got them, so it wasn't a personal judgement on my grooming, or if it was they were discrete about it. And it's nice to have my own nail clippers on hand instead of having to borrow them whenever I need it).

and I think that's it.

S'okay, nothing really exciting in it. I think again, aside from parents (who are always hard to buy for) the gifts I gave were better than the ones I got, which feels good at least.

So yeah, today will probably be watching the movie I got with my brother and his gf today, and maybe playing some video games together (he recently bought a PS2, finally bringing us kicking and screaming into a few years ago. Before that the last new console we had was the Super Nintendo. Course, currently we only have one controller, so we'll have to take turns, and the games Castlevania and GTA: Vice City, but those are fun).
