newnumber6So, I started, and got a good clip going. I not only met my word goal for the day, but also my word goal for tomorrow (which I wanted to do because I suspect I'll need the ability to take breaks to refresh myself and get new ideas).
Then, late in the day, I'm relaxing, and suddenly, the power goes out, for the whole block.
And I wonder... did I save? Oh, crap, I don't think I did. I know I should all the times, especially after this sort of thing has happened to me before, losing hours of work just because I didn't save and something happened.
So yes, clearly the universe doesn't want me to do NaNo today.
When the power came back on, I checked, and no, I did not save. However, my word processor is one that auto-saves regularly and so despite the fact that I didn't save it, I was able to recover it and no words were lost.
Screw you, universe, science beats you again!
