So, twas my brother's birthday today, and, being the magnanimous person I am, offered to treat him and his gf out to McDonalds (or anywhere nearby, but that was the choice) for dinner. So we went out, ordered what we wanted, joked about how they always screw up the orders on the way home and took a quick look in the bag... only to find once we actually got home, instead of two large fries like we ordered, they gave us one medium (there were fries when we looked, we just figured there were two and there was only one).
We didn't want to go back right away and have everything get cold, so we split the fries and ate our meal and then afterwards decided that if my brother called to complain so they would expect us, I'd go back and pick up the fries. Seemed all settled and my brother said there was even a mention that they'd give a voucher for something free, so I went back...
Only to find that whoever he talked to on the phone apparently didn't give the message to the front staff, and they had no idea who I was or what I expected. So I told them that we'd ordered two large fries and only got one and that I thought it was a medium, and they rectified the situation... by giving me a large fry. No voucher or anything. I didn't want to make any more of a fuss, so in the end, I got a large and a medium fries for the price of two large fries.
However, my natural instinct was to not go at all and just suffer the loss rather than deal with people in a potentially awkward situation, so I'm calling it a victory anyway. I sure don't have many of those as it is.
The moral of the story is: Always check your order for EVERYTHING at McDonalds, because they're %!@#ups.
