Yeah, so, it's going a little slower than I hoped. So far on the forums only one person who signed up isn't someone I already knew well (I later figured out they're on Usenet).

Just not all that great at advertising. But, I'll keep with it, of course. And, really, my site isn't really on any search engines yet, though I've submitted it a few days ago (it can take a while).

Have you advertised it on yahoogroups, on the search engines, and on the lj boards?

I've submitted the site to the major search engines (no luck yet, but it takes a while). Haven't done anything on yahoogroups yet, as I don't really know appropriate ones, likewise for ljboards.

But as I'm against spamming, I don't want to post a big advertising post in a board that's not designed for it. So, to be right with my conscience, with most such boards I'd probably have to join and try to join the discussion while keeping the site address in a .sig or something. I'm already doing that on some of the major comics sites (and the firefly site I'm already on), and I don't know how much more I've got to casually say. ;)

How bout linking with affiliate sites in a link exchange of sorts? My friend did that with his gaming site and it got to be very popular super quick?

I have links up to other similar sites, and those of them that have link listings I've submitted my own site, but not all of them do. I think it'll just be slow going for a little bit at first, and hopefully it'll pick up. I'm considering trying to get an (e-mail) interview with one of the comic creators, since a few of them have previously responded to my reviews on usenet. Then I can point people to the interview and hope they stay to sign up on the rest of the site. :)
