Dream Foo: Can't remember too much about it. All I remember is I was some kind of cop, and was looking over a dead body... who was my exact double. Looked exactly like me, and had copies of my ID, except it was engaging in criminal acts, and had different fingerprints. I can't remember exactly what it was doing, but I was worried about my reputation.

Other Foo:
Commercial Annoying Me Lately: Some deoderant commercial, where the wife/girlfriend sniffs the guy's shirt after he's been out jogging and doesn't believe him because it's not even wet and doesn't smell - due to the deoderant. Okay premise for a commercial... except it's CLEARLY dubbed, badly, over the original voices. I'm not sure if it started as another language, or if the company found a loophole that they could save money by using actors images and voice-over artists voice, paying less in total than paying an actor to both appear and speak, but it's annoying as heck.
Also: The Brushing With Sensodyne commercial. The one with the woman with an accent who says 'Because I can'.

RP Foo:
Had another Scuzz scene, which was rather fun. Got to be a pig and a jerk. Working Sawyer from Lost into my mental template for Scuzz really helps me get into the spirit.
Log is here.

Had another scene at XET last night. This was the Ultimates half of the opening scene, which had been hella hard to pull off schedule-wise, but we did it. Had fun with it, although it was getting late towards the end and so maybe didn't pose as good as I'd like. Ah well, still, RP is RP. Still want to do a little gathering of closing poses for the log so it ends a little better, and some minor editing and such, so should be up soon. Working on the news post.

It was also my big debut as Spidey (might as well just admit it since there's no way I'd be able to keep it secret anyway). I was a little worried apping him, mostly because of the whole 'humorous banter' aspect of him is hard to pull off, but I think I did okay... although granted, I had to think up some things to say in advance of the scene, but I also had a little that was just on the spot reacting to what happened. I also seem to have a bad habit of posing bad double entendres in superhero combat scenes. Then again, the Scuzz one was accidental, the one in this one was purposeful.

But at least now that the big scene is out of the way I can feel more free to play more casual scenes because it's not hanging over my head that I should be ready for the bigger one if an opportunity presents itself. Plus, it looks like an active Brotherhood is actually going to happen now, so I can do more with Scuzz. Yay RP.

Had a big scene at XET today, was a lot of fun. Forgotten how fun RP can be... even when it's characters I'm only temping - even managed to have fun with the Adam/Xavier scene the other day, and I usually don't like playing Xavier.

This time around I do kinda regret not being able to have Scuzz involved as much as I wanted, what with having to play both him and the MLF characters, but there was still a lot of fun, mostly provided by witty comments from other players, and I got to fulfill a lifelong dream (well, okay, not lifelong) of having a character throw a bag of popcorn in Jono's nuclear fire.

Oh, and I accidentally used the phrase 'Scuzz's exploding balls'.

S'fun having XET back.

Edit: Sceneline is here.

Okay, this is my last mention of XET's rebirth in my regular journal, so as not to spam people on my friends list who just don't care. I've created the community [livejournal.com profile] xet_talk to do some discussions about the idea... it looks like we're tentatively going forward with the idea of bringing XET back.

Crazy ideas

Okay, yes, for those of you who didn't click on the website, the XET thing was an April Fools joke. Sorry. However, what I didn't expect was the people who seemed to be genuinely disappointed that it was (and that I'd been smacked, kicked, and stabbed multiple times online after it). And that starts me thinking crazy thoughts... I haven't had thoughts this crazy since the toaster told me I should take over the world. But that's not important right now.

Since it's no longer April Fools, I thought I'd ask the question. Keeping in mind that it was a hoax (and so none of the preparations are in place, there's no staff yet, and that what I made up in terms of new policies and events during the 1 year gap may or may not come to pass since there should probably be discussion about it)...

And of course feel free to comment.

Some of you already know about this, as I've been quietly talking to you for a few months now. Others of you will no doubt be surprised. And then, some of you on my friends list won't even have a clue what I'm talking about, or care.

On May 1st, 2005, we're re-opening X-Men: End Times (under the name X-Men: End Times Two, so our acronym can be XETT or XET2). This will be a continuation of the original XET, rather than a relaunch, however, we will be making a dramatic use of the '1 year gap'... a year has gone by since the timeline of any logs that had been posted (and more than that since there was any significant RP), which gives people the chance to put their characters at pretty much any position they'd like... they could have left the team they were with, or gotten rid of some of the baggage a previous player saddled them with, or whatnot (there's also other mechanisms for smoothing over problems, listed below).

However, in that past year there've been a few more major events, that the staff has set in place, including options that open up more of the wider MU rather than just the X-Universe. (That's part of the reason it's called XET 2 - It's like a sequel, and in sequels you always try to go bigger.) Among the major events are...

For more detailed information on some of these events and policies, as well as the new app rules and our official reopening day, visit http://www.unreachablestar.net/xet/xet.htm or log on to the MUX (the address hasn't changed). Now get your advertising caps on people, we'll need a lot of help in order to pull this off.
