"Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much."

So, yeah, I was sitting down with dinner and watching Global news, only to find that the lead story has a familiar name. Several years ago (I'm not sure the exact number, I'm horribly at remembering events, I think it might be 3 or 4), my stepmother's grandson was basically abused and neglected to death by his other grandparents, who had custody of him and some of his siblings. I'm not even sure exactly what the story was, because I was so surprised at first and, from doing searches, I couldn't find any information, but I _think_ it was the grandparents finally officially starting trial for murder. I didn't know the kid, personally, although I knew his parents (I suppose part of how this all went down was because my stepmom was kept away from them by the grandparents), but I remember when I found out about it. I'll spare you the details, it's just horrific that anyone could do that to kids, essentially, as I understand it, just for money (the government gave them money to help take care of the kids). Bleh. I don't see any way they can _not_ be convicted, but I hope they do and throw the book at them, the highest possible sentence.

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest.
